A hinge hasp is the simplest type of lock fitting. Hinge hasps are used to lock boxes or simple doors and gates. This includes gates, basement doors, stable doors, garden gates as well as doors to tool sheds or summer houses.
The hinge hasp is screwed securely onto the object being locked. The screw-on plate with the loop (staple) is fastened to the moving part of the fitting. Both parts can be connected to each other by placing the hasp over the loop. You can also secure the hinge hasp with a padlock to protect the box, door or gate from unauthorised access.
A door bolt serves the same purpose as a hinge hasp. However, it does not have a hasp: the sliding bolt is pushed through the other part of the lock. A padlock can also be used to lock the door and protect it from unauthorised opening.
BASI offers a wide range of robust hinge hasps with different length hasps suitable for a wide range of purposes. With hinge hasps and door bolts from BASI, everything is secure: thanks to the concealed screw holes when closed, the fittings and bolts cannot be unscrewed. In addition, all of our fittings are galvanised and corrosion resistant.
